It's coming! The #ChesterCountyStudioTour is ju It's coming!
The #ChesterCountyStudioTour is just around the corner, which means it time to create this year's County Collector piece.

The County Collector is a 6x6 piece that every artist in the tour creates and sells for $75. Its a great way to start collecting art or to get a nice small piece if you are starting to run out of room on your walls!

So happy that @countystudiotour is able to put precautions in place so we can continue to share our spaces with you and a big thank you to @Ottos_mini for sponsoring the county collector program!

WIP detail - 'The Fisherman's Wife' I had s WIP detail - 'The Fisherman's Wife'

I had started this painting a while ago, but he got put aside for some more pressing work. So happy to be back to work in these waters and hopefully finishing up this week.

It's kind of ironic that the parable is about being grateful for what you have, and as I work on this I am thinking about how wonderful it would be to be swimming in warm waters like these rather than being surrounded by the foot of snow we got over the past week.

But I will say, yesterday morning was so relaxing, sipping coffee by the window, being mesmerized by the huge floofy snowflakes lazily drifting down.

So, if you had a choice, would take the snow or the water?

Woohoo! I'm juried in to the Chester County Woohoo!

I'm juried in to the Chester County Studio Tour again this year, and we are back to May! We had a great time in September, even with all our extra Covid precautions in place. I'll be doing the same this year to help ensure safe studio visits for everyone.

Joining me in my studio this year are @carol.angstadt and @erika_stearly and right next door is @taylor.bielecki

Mark your calendars and save the date! Can't wait to see you in the studio! :)

I love the colors of snow! We finally got a I love the colors of snow!

We finally got a good snow here in Pennsylvania, and I love it. I grew up in Ohio just off Lake Erie and we pretty much had 2 feet of snow from November to March, so PA winters tend to be a bit disappointing.

Winter Blooms is a small group I did so I could play around with the pale pinks and greens and blues of winter. The flowers may not be blooming outside, but they are there in their winter beds, just waiting to pop up.

These are another group of 5x7s and are out now on my site.

Finding the Light is a small series I did to wrap Finding the Light is a small series I did to wrap up 2020 as I thought about the new year and how we can best move forward.

These are 5x7 works on paper and are now available on my website. Perfect for bringing a little bit of light and the reminder of hope to your home.

Initial sketch for a painting I am working on of T Initial sketch for a painting I am working on of The Marsh Wife.

I came across her in the fairytale "The Girl Who Trod on a Loaf" and became intrigued. In the story she gets only a brief mention, and in trying to find additional folk tales about her, nothing really seemed to match up.

In the story, the Marsh Wife lives under the marshes and runs a brewery there, which is why you see the vapors and gases and bubbles rising through the marsh. These minor characters in stories seem to call to me. They deserve so much more than just a passing scene in someone else's tale!

Do you have a favorite 'minor' character from a story that you think deserves more?

"The World is so Full of a Number of Things" is fr "The World is so Full of a Number of Things" is from a series I did at the beginning of 2019.

This group of work was all about routine and repetition and habit. It was not only about the fresh starts that we try to take on with the start of a new year, but also about the ongoing habits that impact our lives.

We see developing new habits and changing ourselves as the path to the future, but I also noticed that maintaining the existing routines was one thing that helps keep my Dad going as his memory fails him.

It is a fine line we all walk to keep moving forward while holding onto those things from the past we still need.

What are you looking forward to in the new year? What are the good things that you are carrying along with you?
